Swamps tour

Today we got up early for a boat tour in the Lousiana Swamps, which are located only about 45 minutes by bus from New Orleans Downtown.  It was amazing to experience the nature and wildlife there. The crocodiles swam really close, wow!

Some Sightseeing

Yesterday I was very happy to welcome my uncle Michi here with us in New Orleans! Today Renate, Carmen (my spanish roomie) Michi and me took the street car to city center for some sightseeing. Here some pictures:

Hey everyone! Seems like we are lucky with our house! It is really big, we have a huge anteroom, kitchen and living room, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and even a little garden (which we don’t use because it’s simply too HOT!) But the best thing, it only takes us like 5 minutes to walk to university! We are 5 girls here and I feel that we will get along really well and going to have a good time :) It is nice to have somebody around all the time!

PS: Yesterday we did some grocery shopping at Walmart and I was shocked! Everything from milk to shampoo is packed at least double size compared to European conditions. And hey, who the heck needs coloured cheese? It’s crazy!

Goodbye Miami, hey New Orleans

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you shortly know that I arrived succesfully in our house in New Orleans! I will tell you more about it tomorrow cause right now we are a bit busy with unpacking our stuff, cleaning and you know just making ourselves a bit comfortable. Here is just a glimpse of my room, which I already like by the way :)

Miami Nightlife

Hey cuties! I can tell you, Miami is definitely a VERY good place to go out :) Since our lovely girls Patricia, Marta and Beata are leaving today we felt like we need a good party on our last evening together . So we decided to go to Cameo Club again and had so much fun! Hope you are all fine and everything is alright at home :)

Key West

Yesterday (Aug 18 th) we rented a car for a day-trip to Key-West, the southernmost point of the Florida Keys. Key West  is indeed a sweet city with nice little houses. However, we were a bit dissapointed by the beaches. But all in all, although it took us around 4 hours in one direction to go there and it has been raining heavily for some time, it was definitely worth doing it because only the highway-drive down is exciting and we really had fun!

Miami Feeling

Aug 16th: We spent the morning on the beach.  The beach is really amazing but I have to take care a bit because the sun down here is really aggressive.  After having some lunch at Friday’ s we walked around a bit and did some shopping at Lincoln Road, a really nice shopping street. We all ended up buying some new high-heels. In the evening we did a club tour organized by our hostel, which was fun! Great day!

Welcome to Miami!

Aug. 15th: My day started very early at 2.15a.m. I only slept about an hour! Klaus took me to the airport, lucky me my bag weighed exactly 23,0 kg and I had a good flight to London Heathrow with AUA. From there I headed off to Miami with Virgin Atlantic. Both flights were perfectly on time.  The Boeing 747 seemed to have already passed her best years but the food was good and, more important, I finally made it over the Bermuda Triangle and arrived in Miami :) And guess what I already love Miami Beach!
